Compile Top 10 lists for travel/lifestyle mag: A national travel lifestyle magazine is looking for freelance writers to research “Top 10” lists on a variety of topics, interview relevant sources and craft 200- to 1,500-word articles. Writers should have at least two years experience in travel and/or lifestyle writing and access to an industry expert or celebrity source for a proposed list’s content. Examples of successful lists include “10 Looks for Spring” picked by a celebrity stylist and “The 10 Most Important Homes in America” chosen by a spokesperson for the American Historical Association. Please be very specific in your pitch regarding the proposed list concept and available source(s). Once the editorial staff has approved a pitch, writer will be asked to conduct any necessary interviews or background research and produce an original draft. Magazine sections include: Travel, Shopping, Food, People, Money and Drinks. Writers with celebrity connections are especially encouraged to send query letters.
