Business writers: Independent publisher of business history books seeks authors based in the following areas: Alabama, Toledo (Ohio), Nebraska, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Delaware, and New Jersey. Writers MUST be based in the state, region, or city covered in the book and have in-depth knowledge of the area’s business and entrepreneurial climate. Only experienced, published writers will be considered. Authors must be able to create an engaging narrative from what can be dry material. Research skills and attention to detail are essential. Book writing experience preferred but will consider candidates with business-related magazine experience. Publications are of art-book quality and are sponsored primarily by government departments, which use the books as economic development tools. Average book length is 13,000 to 15,000 words, 7 to 10 chapters. Writer submits two chapters at a time over a period of approximately 5 to 6 months.
