Researcher/fact checker for author (Northern California): Seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented researcher to assist on a book based on The Wall Street Journal's page one story on the Mondavi family, "Inside a Napa Valley Empire, A Family Struggles with Itself." This is a major book project under contract with Gotham Books, an imprint of Penguin US, with a firm delivery deadline of January, 2006. This freelance job would involve 5-15 hours a week, pay $10 per hour plus expenses, and acknowledgement in the book. The work would involve historical research, combing through legal documents, and fact-checking, as well as general organizational tasks. It is a great opportunity for an aspiring journalist to work on a serious work of narrative non-fiction. It is also a chance to learn from a veteran journalist.
