Freelance Job of the Day

Temporary reporting position: The Chronicle of Higher Education seeks an experienced reporter to immediately fill a temporary position in the paper's Money & Management section. The assignment has an expected duration of six to eight months but could lead to a full-time position. Requirements: The successful candidate will turn out compelling stories of unimpeachable accuracy that get to the bottom of higher-education business and management. He or she will have expertise in financial matters; be an accomplished beat reporter; and have the ability to break news and identify long-term business trends. Applicants should be skilled at writing short, tight news items as well as longer narrative stories. Salary is competitive. Benefits include health-care coverage.
