Freelance Job of the Day

Newspaper columnist (Bay Area, Calif.): Tom Friedman does it twice a week. Jon Carroll does it five times a week. Think you can handle it once a month? We need someone who can pound out crisp, colorful first-person columns about Jewish life in the Bay Area. We like them funny, touching, insightful and inciting. And definitely Jewish. To qualify, you must have professional experience and clips that show you’ve been published in magazines or newspapers. You must live in Northern California. It’s helpful to have Jewish knowledge and/or a passion about covering the Jewish community. We can't pay a lot, but we'll give you great exposure at the very front of our weekly publication. If you write the kind of column that we want, our Jewish readers will be talking about it all week. Please send an e-mail to j. the Jewish news weekly of Northern California that includes: 1. Four to six clips or samples of column-type material. 2. A resume. 3. A cover letter that tells why you’d love writing for a Jewish publication and what your Jewish knowledge is. Send these items to: jobs@jweekly.com
