Freelance Job of the Day

Web writer for law firm, $15/hour (Nashville): bartlawoffice@yahoo.com The Law Office of Bart Durham in Nashville needs someone to fill the position of webmaster. This is a writing and composing job. You do not need formal coding experience. The ability to write is a must. You must have excellent English skills. A college degree in English is desirable, but masters level is preferred. A high IQ is a must. You will help maintain content on our web site (www.bartdurham.com), post news about the office as it is reported in local media, and do website maintenance (checking links etc). You don't need to know anything about the internet to do this job as we have a company (West Publishing Company and their Findlaw division) that does that for us. We tell them what changes we want and they execute them. You will report to Pam Wheeler, our media director, and Bart. They will give you a broad outline of what they want and you will translate that into web copy. We believe the internet will be as important as television in communicating to the general public. Our commercials drive viewers to the web site but frankly the web site is the neglected part of our marketing. It is mediocre now compared to what we want it to be. You can help us make that change. We have produced a thirty minute TV movie called "Coach Foster Fights Back" that is online only at www.richcassidy.com/coach This is will shown on Nashville TV as paid programming. It will be first broken into fifteen one minute segments to air late summer. We are completing the filming on this for the next week. The movie is about a trucker injured in an accident and features Bart and Blair as the attorneys. It is hoped it will create a favorable buzz and humanize us to the public. More movies are planned in the next few years depending on the success of this one. The web site for this short movie is at http://admin.bartdurham2.lawoffice.com/CM/Prototype/home_3-3.htm The web site is still raw and will need a lot of work to integrate it with the office web site. The job requires the ability to work with our staff to make the internet a bigger part of our overall PR program. It is a part time job that it is hoped will develop into a full time job depending on performace.
